| I don't post here much anymore. I am still bored at work but I felt like I shouldn't be blogging for some reason. Also, there are very few people who still use their LJ. A lot of people have moved on to bigger better things or are comfortable with little status updates throughout the day via Facebook rather than a long LJ entry. I get it.
This past weekend...
Got slapped around at poker (Sidelines) Thusrday night. It seems to be all or nothing when I play here. I either get hit with the deck and play perfectly, finishing in the top 5 or I can't catch a card to save my life and try to force plays that aren't there and go out REALLY early.
Friday I just putted around the house watching movies and Nip/Tuck. I have been blasting through the seasons of that show. Currently a handful of episodes in season 5. I like the show. It is fun and original. Should be all caught by next Tuesday's new episode...I think. We also got our run in. Katie was either really pumped up or I have majorly lost a step or 2 because she was so far ahead of me I couldn't see her anymore. She turned around and came back and then pulled away again.
Saturday was more Nip/Tuck during the day while Katie studied for her upcoming exam. Then it was off to Cleveland to see Mushroomhead's annual Halloween show. We almost didn't get tickets. I saw there were tickets available on Monday but didn't pull the trigger on them. As of Tuesday they had sold out. On Friday I just randomly checked again and they had them available. So off we went.
We purposely arrived 2 hours after doors opened in an effort to miss a bunch of opening bands we didn't want to see. Apparently they got a late start. We ended up watching like 7 bands. Mushroomhead didn't go on until 1:10AM but it was well worth the wait...
Their set looked fucking awesome! They had dry ice covering the stage with fog, not a smoke machine. They had a sick ass light show and tons of props: Straw, corn, dead trees, burlap, the pumpkin head scarecrow from the "Sun Doesn't Rise" music video, etc. Just looked sick.
In no particular order, the set list from last night...
Fear held dear 12 hundred Bwomp Solitaire unraveling Kill tomorrow Save us Embrace The Ending (Edit) Simple survival Sun doesn't rise Born of desire Before I die Empty spaces One more day 43 Damage done Cut me Crazy (Never saw it played before)
I lost it when Crazy came on. My voice has been borderline ver since. The show was being taped for a DVD so there were people with cameras everywhere. Definitely the best show I have ever seen them put on. Great way to spend a Halloween away from friends.
Sunday was football. Pat's were on a bye and there was no 8PM game so more Nip/Tuck.
I got a small profit sharing check from my company. I used a little bit of it to order an Adrian Peterson and Darren Sharper jersey. My football jersey closet has been a little depleted, save for some Patriots jerseys. My Moss Vikings jersey is among the missing and I won't be wearing my Vick jersey any longer. Those should be here before this weekend.
Pretty good weekend. | |

| Had a pretty good weekend. Left work at 1PM on Thursday and headed to my dr. appointment. They think that my ankle is more gout. They said that nothing gets better that quickly without some kind of steroidal medication that is related to an injury. They told me that people who are prone to gout will get it in cases of trauma sometimes. Like a normal person can sprain their ankle and just have the ankle sprain. If I sprain my ankle, I have a chance to get a gout flare-up near the site. They gave me literature on diet changes I can make to try and avoid getting it. Beer and red meat are like the top no-no's.
After the appointment, I grabbed Katie from work and we started east. We got to the NJ Shore at about 10:20PM. We hung out and drank some beers with Katie's friends. The next day we woke up pretty early and headed to the beach where we chilled for several hours. At around 4PM we all headed back to the hotel room, showered and walked down to a local watering hole for $1 drafts and $2 appetizers. $1 drafts go down quick, especially when there is a time limit on them. We ended up back at this bar for dinner later that night. After dinner we hit the boardwalk, played some arcades and got some soft serve.
The next day I was less interested in the beach. There is only so long that I want to risk getting a sunburn. When everyone else headed to the beach, I putted around the hotel for a little while and then tracked down the local Dunks for some coffee and breakfast. When I got back from that I got the gear and headed to meet up with everyone at the beach. After a few hours I was ready to not be sitting on the beach anymore so I headed back to the hotel room and dropped a deuce. Then I hopped in the pool for a few minutes. After that I sat by the pool, drying off and enjoying a beer in the late afternoon sun.
Once everyone got back from the beach we played some passcode and got some beers in us then walked to a bar called The Ark. It had great food, they make their own beer and they had a really good cover band that entertained us late into the evening.
Last night I am pretty sure I didn't sleep at all. I don't know what my deal was but it just wouldn't happen and I was exhausted too. Hopefully I will be able to tonight.
Our apartment is a disaster right now. We have clutter everywhere and our kitchen is just a mess. We have to take care of that this week before we head to MA/NH this weekend. Can't wait!

| Despite my ankle pain it was a fairly good weekend. One katie's classmates came over Friday and we hung out on the porch and had a few beers. Watched some 24 before bed. Saturday I made breakfast and then weheaded out into the world. I grabbed a much needed pair of work pants that I got at old navy. I used to not be able to shop in the store because you can only get their larger sizes online. I snuck into a few pairs though so I bought one of them. Grabbed some gym shorts at target and then a bike helmet for Katie at Dick's. After that we went to the Double Wide Grill where we ate and played cornhole. Good times. We also met up with another of katie's classmates and a few of his friends for a drink before turning in. Can't wait to go camping. Posted via LiveJournal.app. | |

| So I am making good progress with all the walking and jogging. I've lost a little weight and people are noticing. It is a good feeling. It gives me motivation to keep at it. A bad feeling is when you wake up Sunday morning and can't even put weight on your foot because your ankle hurts so badly. It pisses me off. I am going to lose my progress. It is feeling significantly better today but it still hurts. I am going to try riding a bike I think so I can get some exercise while I wait for it to get better. Posted via LiveJournal.app. | |

| Went to my eye appointment where they show me how to use my contacts. I get there and my contacts aren't in yet. 5-7 business days. Don't do anything crazy like call me and tell me not to come in. Posted via LiveJournal.app. | |

| Friday night I waited for Katie to get out of work and then we walked down to the Waterfront, approximately 5 miles, so that I could see Transformers 2 at the IMAX. Turns out, it was sold out. I was kind of pissed after walking all the way down there. This place never sells anything out. It is a new IMAX theater so I guess people are finally catching on. I ended up just seeing the regular showing.
It was a good movie. The action wasn't nearly as difficult to make out the action scenes in this one. I was a little disappointed with the way the plot went. They were leaning towards a plot line that I actually know and then it never happened. I thought they were going to end it with a kind of Empire Strikes Back kind of feel but that didn't happen either. I don't want to ruin anything for anyone. It is still a bit early in it's release.
After the movie we headed to the Sharp Edge because we hadn't eaten anything. We split an appetizer and had a drink. After that we walked home and crashed.
Saturday we were up early again and eventually we walked down to Walnut Street and hung out on a bench, people-watching. By the time we got home from there it was time to get ready to head to the game.
The company tailgate started at 5PM so we got the cooler all packed and headed out of here around 4:20. We got nearly halfway to the park and realized we forgot the tickets. We go back and get them and are now running late. Then we started running into closed roads and bridges as we got closer to the park We eventually got there and parked and were only about 10 minutes late by some miracle.
The mix and mingle was a bit weird because all the people I am really close with weren't there. There was 1-2 people I know there and we stuck to chatting with them for the duration. We drank, we ate, it was cool.
The view from our seats were great. We had the same basic seats the Goldie's season tickets have, staring down 1st base line from behind the plate. This kid I know from work and his way cooler GF, or as Katie called her, his hot girlfriend, sat to our right and this kid I am relatively tight with and his GF to our left. The 'Hot GF' had a score card and was doing her best to score the whole game. That's old school. She was much more talkative and friendly than her BF. The Pirates won and it was a pretty exciting game. The park is really nice. There were fireworks afterward. It had been seemingly forever since I had watched a fireworks display. Pretty cool.
When we got home from the game we set up our camping chairs and cooler on the front porch and rocked beers until we both passed out. We passed out more from having an exhausting day than anything else. It was very relaxing and kind of ghetto at the same time.
Sunday I was a bit hungover and opted to sit in my recliner and watch movies all day. I am currently scouring the ONDemand cable feature for every free HD movie I can find because they look amazing on my TV. Movies I actually want to see are scarce but I have been finding some hidden gems.
Today work kind of flew by. I had a lot to do and it carried me well. After work I jogged to where Katie was getting off the bus. Then we walked home so she could change and we headed back out to walk/jog. We were out for 1 hour, 18 minutes. My time has been cut down but I am mixing in more and more jogging. I really needed the exercise today. I was out of lunches at work and was forced to eat BK. I felt pretty gross afterward.
Now I have the Sox on while I type this and they are working on beating the Orioles.
Tomorrow, right after work I head to the eye doctor to pick up my contacts. Apparently they won't let me leave until I put them in and take them out twice. From there I meet Katie at PNC Park to go to the Pirates again. This is our makeup game from the rainout in May. I just hope I don't end up getting stuck at the eye dr. for too long.
Then, I work on Wednesday and get on a plane to head to Boston. Can't wait!

| Walked a hard 4 miles yesterday so I could play some free Texas holdem. Came out swingin and established a huge chip lead with an ace high flush and people who hate their chips. Then after about 6 full houses and a couple of straights I had the biggest stack in the room by a lot. Then I hit an endless run of cold cards and started forcing some hands that weren't there. Ended up coming in 4th out of 20 people. Not bad for someone who is out of practice. Supposed to be walking to the movies tonight to see transformers in IMAX but it is looking like T-storms all day. I have been trying to walk to the theater for weeks and it has been getting rained out or cancelled. Fuckers. Posted via LiveJournal.app. | |
